I stumbled across this one in my collection recently and was surprised I hadn’t done anything with it in three years. A quick edit, and I can now see why I took the shot in the first place.
Ystradfawr Nature Reserve in Ystradgynlais is a pretty unassuming stretch of woodland that lies on the former site of the Ystradfawr Colliery. My family know it as ‘The Tips’. With many routes running through the woods, crossing the brook or climbing up into farmland, it’s a great spot for an early morning walk. On this particular August morning, I saw one of the paths that I’d walked many a time in a new light as the morning sunshine and mist leant an air of mystery to what is normally a pretty non-descript route.
Due to family circumstances, I haven’t been out walking The Tips in the morning for quite some time. I miss it, and long to get out there in the early morning light again.
