We’re currently in a cold snap. A week of dry weather is such a novelty after such a wet 2023. I prefer the bite of the wind and frozen fingers to the continual damp. I love the way on dry winter days, the roads are a shade lighter from the gritting salt. It always makes me think spring is close — even though we’re a good few months from it. But on clear evenings, it’s noticeably lighter at the end of the work day giving the promise of longer days. And of course, at this time of year, the sunsets are something else.
