Sunset over the Upper Swansea valley seen from Brecon Road, Ystradgynlais

Another sunset snap on Brecon Road, Ystradgynlais. Taken quickly on my phone while busy doing other things. But it did trigger the thought “I feel like I live in sunset land”.

All my 30 odd years living in Sussex, it feels like the frequency of sunsets was nothing compared to the couple of years shy of a decade I’ve been living back in Wales.

This could just be a mental illusion. I spend a lot of time out and about now, and am perhaps more likely to actually see the sky. Time spend indoors working on a computer, or watching a film – of course I would miss the sunset.

Could it be viewpoint? Most places I’ve lived prior were quite flat and low, enclosed by trees, whereas now I often get to see straight down the valley to Swansea.

I don’t really need an answer to this question. I’m just so grateful that I’m privy to these breath-taking, inspiring displays.
