Sgwd Gwladys in Spring

My first time visiting Sgwd Gwladys near Pontneddfechan just over a decade ago.

Early spring is an ideal time to do the waterfalls walk: Still wet enough for the falls to put on a dramatic display, fine enough to be kind on a long walk, and quiet enough to feel like you’re the only one around. In the summer months it’s a different story — the approach road turns into a car park, the falls turn into a water park, and litter sadly becomes commonplace (I still can’t forget seeing dirty nappies left on riverside rocks).
