September shot by in a flash. Life is just so insanely busy at the moment due to several factors — my two-year old waking early in the morning, my partner having major surgery, and the day job just isn’t getting any quieter.

Temperatures have been all over the place recently. We had our first frost this week, but now next week doesn’t look to be dropping below 10 degrees at night. A warm autumn so far. That said, October has been generous with some stunning evening skies and morning displays.

I’m managing to snap a lot of shots on my phone and LX-15, but finding the time to download, edit, organise and post them evades me most of the time. However, this one of sunrise over the old Nant Helen open cast mine I just had to set aside some time to share.

The way the beams of sunlight are shown clearly in the morning mist is just epic. Then the little plumes of steam from the bungalows below add a certain cosiness to the image. I’ll never tire of this view.

I’m hoping that in around three months’ time, life can start to return to some sort of normality and I’ll have a bit more time to work on my photos and blog in general.
